Alice 👩

Once upon a time in a small village, there lived a beautiful couple, Mr. John and Mrs. Rachel. It was the autumn when Mrs. Rachel was 9 months pregnant and  she was expecting a girl child. On Monday morning, while  eating breakfast  Mrs. Rachel  got a full blown pain in her belly ,her husband John took her to to the hospital where she delivered a beautiful girl child but unfortunately Mrs. Rachel died.

Everyone in their family were happy to see the new born baby, but were moreover  mourning for the untimely death of Mrs. Rachel. The baby girl was named Alice. Although Mr. John was in great misery,  Alice somewhere helped him overcome his grief. After few years when Alice was around 2 years old, Mr. John's relatives and family advised him to get married again. It took some time for Mr. John to get convinced, and finally he was married again!

Mr. John's new wife was Mrs. Luna , who was very beautiful and she promised Mr.  John that she'll take the best care of Alice. However, as time passed by, she was very harsh on the little girl Alice. She used to force Alice to perform difficult household chores which used to be difficult for the little 8 year old Alice to do. Alice's life became miserable. 

One day Alice got late for  the school, because she was busy with the household chores, indulged in mopping the floor which was assigned by her stepmother Luna. By the time she reached school, the school gate had already been closed and she couldn't attend  her class. Alice waited outside the school gate for a while and then she went to a park situated near her school. She sat down on one of the benches of the park and started sobbing loudly. A lady who had been observing her from the time she entered the park,  came close to her and asked, "Oh my dear why are you crying? ". Alice replied "I couldn't attend my school today, because I was late." Alice was sobbing continuously . The lady asked "Why were you late? " Alice said, "I was late because I was assigned to wipe the floor of my house by my stepmother". The lady said "aww my dear , stop crying , I am there for you". Alice said, "But who are you? ". The lady replied "I am your friend, can we be friends? Oh !actually best friends? Huh?". Alice said,  "Okay, let's be friends but what's your name? The lady said, "You can call me Rachel." Alice was so happy and added: "Rachel was my mothers' name, hmmmm.....but she is no more", and then she started crying out even more loudly!  With her soothing voice the lady consoled Alice and told her , "Okay, you can either call me mom or Rachel is simply good, it's upon you". Alice got back home happy, she was grateful that she found a friend. 

One day, again she was crying in her room, because she was scolded by her stepmother harshly. The  the lady came back again and started talking to Alice and she consoled her. Rachel told her: "You need to be strong my dear, you should fight for yourself, you have to study hard and make me proud. Study that's the only way you can overcome your weakness". Rachel motivated Alice because of which she got the enthusiasm to study hard, to work hard. After this incident  Rachel used to meet her every day and she used to motivate her. Alice completed her studies and decided to become a teacher. 

The day she got her job, Alice was much excited to meet Rachel and share her success. Alice was waiting for Rachel at the park, where they first met. Rachel arrived and exclaims "Congratulations, my dear, you did it". Alice hugged her, and thanked her for being the rain in her desert like world . Rachel was so proud of Alice, and she wished Alice luck for the rest of her life. Rachel explained . "My dear, never stop growing, when life sets you back, you must bounce back, you might not se me now, since I have to go where I am destined to be ,but you my brave girl shall never get weak". Alice got a bit emotional and she nodded. Rachel said, Good bye my dear, I will always love you!" And, she disappeared . Alice was startled  seeing Rachel  disappear all of a sudden. She couldn't think of doing anything . She got in a thought that Rachel might be her mother. Since she had never seen her mother's face. Her stepmother didn't keep any of Rachel's memory. Alice still wonders if Rachel was her mother or just her illusion. 

 Moral: Education can change life 🎓

Trip To Rongichu Water Garden

 On 16th December, our creative writing crew went on a journey, to a very beautiful place in 32nd mile, the Rongichu Water Garden. The garden is located at Singtam, East Sikkim. Aside from being the regulatory center point of the state, East Sikkim is likewise the center point of tourism activities in the Himalayan area. The rich greenery, entrancing valleys, delightful lakes, numerous old monasteries, and temples enhance East Sikkim to draw in a large number of vacationers. We were 9 of us along with two teachers we enjoyed the trip. It took us barely 20 minutes to reach there from our University, which is at Topakhani. When we reached, before entering the park we had to book the tickets. 

The Rongichu water garden was established in 1975, for the people to come and relax in their leisure. The garden has lush greenery, settled in nature, sprawling land. It was a soothing place, the birds were chirping and the smell of those leaves made me feel alive. The weather was so calm,there were varieties of plants of bamboo different types of pines Lilly flower and much more the walkway in between was so beautiful,  there were two swimming pools also and there was a river Rani Khola just below the garden, whose gargling was adding more pleasure and peace to the environment, there were some rules of the garden like we cannot litter the place, we cannot use the nature since we saw some of them had tatood their names on the woods of bamboos, were not allowed to leave the leftover boon fire since it can cause damage. These rules were discussed by Mr.  Madhan Chettri, in charge of the garden. There was a powerhouse from the garden which is located a few miles after the garden there is a restaurant by the roadside hot maggie or waiwai noddles and other lots and cold beverages were available. Rongichu water is the best place for relaxing, and it is a beautiful picnic spot.

An Insatiable Hunger

 I was a good child of my parents . I was often teased by my elder brother and sister that I've been adopted . Which used to really affect me , I actually started believing it. I loved my parents and they loved me, they still do . We have a sweet family. My father always wakes up sharp at 4am and he goes for a walk. He is is very agile unlike me and my elder siblings. This is about that time when I was just a toddler , almost 9 years old. I used to study at "Little Bell's School". 

It was the day of my examination. We had two exams in a day, one before lunch and one after the lunch. My first exam went well and it was the time of the lunchbreak, and I was very hungry, and the tragedy occurred then. My mom didn't arrive with my lunch and I was scared. The time was passing by, the lunch break was almost over, I was gazing at  the corridors , but my mom didn't arrive. I went to the examination hall, with a awful face and an empty stomach. My teacher distributed the papers , he came near me and asked "what  happened Sheetal? I replied with an almost crying face "I didn't eat my lunch and I am hungry . Unfortunately my teacher couldn't help me with food during exam. The way I gave the exam was very miserable since I couldn't bear with my hunger. 

I completed my paper, went back home and cried and complained "Mumma why didn't you bring my lunch?". She  was very sorry and she explained that she got so busy with a  meeting in the bank that she got delayed . By the time she reached home and started preparing my lunch ,it was quite late. But still she rushed to the school and an aunt explained her that the school gates had been closed . The lunch break was over . But in reality I still waited for my mom, hoping that she'd get me a warm lunch to satiate my hunger . She didn't come . I cannot forget this day since I wrote my exam with an empty stomach. 

Fresher's Party

Fresher's party was splendid! It was really nicely organised at" Eco paradise". The performances were also good. Our singers and dancers did really well. There were some games also in between , that made the party more interesting . Mr Freshers' and Miss Freshers' competition  was also interesting, our lot of friends participated including me. The ramp walk of all my friends were awesome , we were all well dressed, specially the questioning round was very intresting, we all enjoyed that  . The party was a very healthy , beautiful one . Our teachers and our classes CR's really did a great job, and they had put their efforts to make the party worth it for all of us. At the end, we all danced together and the DJ played his music, we all had so much fun, it was a memorial day. Our fresher's party started positively and ended positively.

Review Of "Wings Of Fire"

 Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was a great scientist. He was a blessing to our country. He was born in 'Rameshwaram' ,a small village, belonging from  poor Muslim family. He was very fascinated by science, he was an intelligent student, he completed his graduation in Physics. At that time he didn't know much about what  career options were there, then after completing his Bsc in  physics, he decided to study at 'MIT' college. He was really fascinated by birds ,skies so he decided to opt for Aeronautics , but he belonged to a poor family and they couldn't afford  the fee. But his sister mortgaged her jewellery for him and and they sent him to the college. 

Personal tragedies, the time when he lost his father,mother, and his very close friend, who was his brother in law all are heart touching. The miseries that arrived at his door but he still flew so high.  He wanted to join "Indian Air force" , but he didn't get selected. He became a scientist who made a significant contribution in developing the country, guided missile program, a pioneering effort for the security of the nation . It's not without a reason that he was nicknamed  as the "Missile Man of India". 

Although he died ,but he is still living in our hearts as he made himself eternal. His last words for the youth in "Wings of fire" were, "the youth lacks the clarity of vision". And he adds  that problems are the part of the life and the sufferings are the essence of success.  He inspires me by his words and his life story , his determination

and his willing to do the best fills my soul with motivation .
